History Part 2: Today the Miskitu people have no weapons. They are regularly being shot and are dying from contaminated water and food.

Today the Miskitu people have no weapons. They are regularly being shot and are dying from contaminated water and food. We will not sit and be murdered any longer. We are being forced to fight for our lives.

We have and are presently ready and willing to negotiate a peaceful solution to our mutual problems. In order to accomplish this the U.N. must realize that the only representative for the Miskitu people is the Nation in Exile. We have documented proof of who we are and our role as advisors for this nation. We have made previous peace offers but we get no answers.

The Miskitu Nation is begging the people of the world for help!

In order to bring peace between The Sandinista, the Contras and Miskitu Warriors gave up their arms and accepted the protection of the United Nations Charters. This left the people without protection. They are at the mercy of Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega, the FSLN dictatorship and The Government of Honduras. Their Armed forces occupy the sovereign domain of Miskitu territory. Mr. Ortega, his partner Rosario Murillo and his Sandinista Government Officials are set on taking this land for its natural resources, profit, and political advantage. The settlers are given guns and are free to use them. The Miskitu people are jailed if they possess such weapons This is their land. They are stripped of the right to protect themselves. If a Miskitu is killed or injured, officials turn a blind eye. If colonos make a complaint they are jailed
